A Funny Thing Happened With Technology by samuellopez74 on GoAnimate
Animated Presentations - Powered by GoAnimate.
After exploring the different choices to make a video, I decided to use Go!Animate. It was a lot of fun making this video. However, it took me a while to think about something funny that happened to me with technology. But I finally remember a fun story and hopefully you will at lest giggle a bit.

Favorite Technology Device
Link to Podcast about my favorite technology device
Audio Transcript:
Hello everyone. Today I will be sharing two of my favorite technology devices. One I use it very frequently at school and the other one is my favorite toy everywhere I go.
At school I have started using an Audio Response System or better known as clickers. These ones work through a program called Turning Point. Turning Point has been around for a few years, and it has been used throughout high schools and colleges. The software is easy to use. It allows the integration of interactive activities unto PowerPoint presentations. These activities can include surveys, questionnaires, or quizzes; anything that can help you monitor comprehension. There are two reasons why I enjoy this technology. First, it gives me a chance to assess understanding before moving onto a new topic or concept. Second, it gives you, the teacher, a chance to receive immediate feedback and participation from all students.
My second favorite technology device is my iPad. I take it with me everywhere I go. I enjoy the fact that you can turn it on with the simple push of a button. The iPad has a world of things for you to do, play games, listen to music, browse the Internet, email, do Internet shopping, and even take pictures. In the next few weeks a selected few, some colleagues and myself will be taking part of a pilot program at my high school using iPads. We will be testing different applications that hopefully will improve student comprehension across curriculum. I am excited because I again it involves one of the favorite technology devices.

Voki Introduction
Voxi is an interesting and exciting
technology tool. I had fun creating an avatar and I must of recorded my
introduction at least a dozen times until I had it just right. Please
follow this link to my Voki Introduction or simply watch it below. I am also including a transcript of my introduction.
"Hi my name is Samuel Lopez and I am from Anaheim, California. This is my seventh year teaching Biology at Anaheim High School. I am also the Yearbook adviser and coach tennis and soccer. I like to go to hockey games and I am huge fan of the Anaheim Ducks. I also like to go to the movies, take pictures and read. My favorite author is James Patterson, especially the Alex Cross series. My current educational passion is using Prezi as a technology presentation tool. I just found out about it recently and I am hoping to quickly introduce it to my students this semester. Prezi is a free web-based tool they can use to create great presentations that go beyond typical Powerpoint ones. I am also passionate about using Audience Response Systems or better known as "clickers". I like the idea of Active Learning by using these interactive tools. With them you can include quizzes or questions in a presentation and receive immediate feedback to measure comprehension. I am really looking forward for what this course has to offer and I cannot wait to continue learning about technology."
